Discuss the parable of the Lost sheep as it appears in the Gospel of Mattew and Luke. Then compare them . 
In your
paper be sure to include the following.
1.    Discuss each parable, especially some
of the details in each that you think are important to the parable achieving
its effect on the reader.
a.    Please focus not only on WHAT you
think the parable is saying in each gospel but HOW the parable is told.
b.    In choosing these details, be
sure to include any specific statements by the narrator or speaker that are
meant to explain the parable, and any surprising elements in the parable. 
c.     Also consider how the material
that appears before and after it (context) might affect the way you read the
parable, or what it means.
d. Be sure to pay specific detail to the wording used the gospels and how it effects the overall meaning or them of the parable. 
2.    Explain as best as you are able
what each of the parables’ message is, and how this fits into the gospels’
portrayal of Jesus or Jesus’ teachings. (Is the same message conveyed elsewhere
in the gospel in a different way or another parable?)  Does the meaning change in the two gospels because
of their differing context?
3.    Discuss the ways in which the two
parables differ in their telling and/or how they might complement the message
of the other. (In answering this, remember to focus not only on the message,
but on details in the parable that are part of how the parable is told.)
