Compose an essay of no fewer than four pages, 12 pt times roman, double spaced.
Content must reflect comprehension of The Handmaid’s Tale AND Parable of the Sower.
Compare and/or contrast significant aspects of the texts and follow the format as developed in
class.
Essays must refer to two different articles from JSTOR, one for each novel and with reasonably
equal content weight.
Develop a clear thesis or statement of purpose and develop it.
Write in the correct tense as it applies to specific text elements. Present tense, most likely.
Support discussion with direct references to the texts in the form of direct quotation. Cite in
MLA style. Support discussion further with direct quotes and paraphrased content from the
articles.
